Watermead Challenge 2010 was our first sponsored charity run and walk at Watermead Country Park near Syston. Runners and walkers of all abilities were  invited to join this community event. 180 entrants took part on the evening of Wednesday 14th July. After a torrential downpour in the afternoon the clouds parted and the race conditions over five and three miles on flat, tarmac surfaced tracks were perfect.

Since that time the event has grown and worthy causes supported have included: Richard Engelgardt of Birstall RFC, Motor Neurone Disease Association Leicestershire Branch, Hope Against Cancer of Leicester, InterCare of Syston, Textellis of Syston, Alex's Wish of Rothley, Birstall BAGS cancer charity and Jade's Retreat of Leicester.

The run goes from strength to strength. In 2021our new Race Director, Dave Snutch, was appointed and over 500 runners took part in support of local charity, Jade's Retreat.
